All I have is the WPAU backup files but apparently they are useless as nothing will recognize them in order to restore the site.

Are there directions anywhere????

Re: WordPress 2.7 To Be Released Today and Few WPAU Updates

My site was working fine on WP 2.6.5 until I upgraded it using WPAU, version from a month or so ago.

Now the files have been all messed up. I did download the DB and Files backups, but when I try to unzip the Files backup on my Windows system, I get an "invalid file" error and no unzipping... jeeesh! Does this mean that this big site is now history???

Help someone!

This what shows up when you visit the site:

Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, '_show_post_preview' was given in /home/partner/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 311

Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, '_close_comments_for_old_posts' was given in /home/partner/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 163

Fatal error: Call to undefined function locate_template() in /home/partner/public_html/wp-includes/general-template.php on line 34

Re: WordPress 2.7 To Be Released Today and Few WPAU Updates

I am saddened that you are no longer supporting WPAU as WP is upgrading to 2.7.1 and I get a fatal error every time I try to use their auto upgrade.

Re: WordPress 2.7 To Be Released Today and Few WPAU Updates

I just used WPAU to move up to 2.7; I hate it! It has totally messed up the look of my blog as far as simple line spacing goes. Is there anyway to use WPAU to revert back to my previous version of wordpress?

Re: WordPress 2.7 To Be Released Today and Few WPAU Updates

Are you using it here yet? How are you liking it now that you've had more time? I'm hesitant & may wait until 2.7.1 before I upgrade, or wait until I know all my plugins can be upgraded without a problem. Sometimes I get tired of the frequency of updates, but it's a sure sign that WordPress really cares, which I can appreciate.

Re: WordPress 2.7 To Be Released Today and Few WPAU Updates

My host has somehow destroyed my database (yes, so it seems). The only files I have are from the backup files generated by WPAU.

I'm switching hosts (well, wouldn't you?) and would be VERY grateful if someone could direct me to a page that details how to restore a WordPress blog from the two WPAU backup zips.

I've Googled for hours today. Although many of the pages that talk about WPAU mention in passing that you CAN restore your blog if necessary, none of them explain HOW to do so.

Hope someone can help, appreciate it. This plugin has been incredibly helpful to me, and I'm pleased that WP ahve seen fit to recognize that by including it in 2.7.

Re: WordPress 2.7 To Be Released Today and Few WPAU Updates

Awesome News. This is a big accomplishment.

Re: WordPress 2.7 To Be Released Today and Few WPAU Updates

This is great news - I bet you're relieved not to have to support the world's WP upgrades any more. But thank you for having made and supported what has been without doubt the most useful, time-saving, sanity-saving plugin.

Re: WordPress 2.7 To Be Released Today and Few WPAU Updates

WordPress 2.7 wasn't released today or yesterday. I wasn't happy when they made that last changes in the layout. But some of those features sound cool.

i didn't know about your comment plugin so that is a big improvement for me

Re: WordPress 2.7 To Be Released Today and Few WPAU Updates

It was only released on wordpress.com, the self hosted blogs can't be updated yet.
