Guys, this was a ground-breaking plugin in 2008 - fantastic work, and it started a lot of people thinking, big kudos to the author.

Now, in 2013, it HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED SINCE 2009. DO NOT USE IT!!

"Automatic Updater" does a fully automatic, unattended upgrade as soon as upgrades become available and it is well supported and current. As with the work here, there is discussion on getting this into the WordPress core, but lots of hurdles to get past (eg detecting broken sites, auto-backout, semi-manual backout, etc).

Again, thanks to the author for changing the face of WordPress back in 2008! Amazing work!

I LOVE WordPress Automatic Upgrade. I know you're not supporting it anymore, but I still use it on most of my sites and never have a problem. I am trying to find a good backup plugin to use now in tandem with Wordpress' update tool that's now built in, but I have spent way too many hours testing and cannot find a backup tool that works as nicely and as quickly as yours. Any suggestions?

Hi Keith
The plugin was throwing me exception as
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at wordpress-automatic-upgrade.php on line 121

You need to move session_start(); to the beginning of php file. I fixed at my end. Hope you get it resolve in the upcoming version

Just wondering if this is updated for 3.0 yet? I&#039m hesitant to update until I know its going to work to backup files.

Wow! One of my favorite plug-in for WP. You my friend did a great job with this plug-in. I been looking for one that can do exactly that. My hosting server is kind of weird with the configuration for the WP build in updater, but then again is free I can&#039t complain. Since it doesn&#039t work for me I always have to do things manually but with this plug-in. I don&#039t have to waste much time doing the updates. Just wanted to say Thank You! Keep up the good work.

I love WP Automatic Upgrade, but on upgrade to WordPress 3.0, WPAU hosed the Visual Editor. Did not happen using built-in upgrade or manual upgrade. I&#039m using WP Automatic Upgrade 1.2.5. Could use some help in restoring Visual Editor.

Hello,

I have successfully used this plugin on my couple of wordpress sites and it worked just "FABULOUS"... amazing...

But when I try to upgrade my http://www.greepit.com, from WP 2.6 to 2.9, it stuck / cease when taking db backup...

The db size is around 12 mb... Is this due to large db size?

Please advise.

Hello

Love the plugin but my ISP has just upgraded their servers to use php5. I had to de-activate the plugin because it didn&#039t like it. Does your plugin support php5? If not, can you please re-write bits so that it does. This is an awesome plugin but now breaks my site :(

I currently am using Wordpress Automatic Upgrade 1.2.5 and I am unable to upgrade anymore. I get the following message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 500001 bytes) in /home/hillstre/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/lib/snoopy.class.php on line 900

Can you help me out?

Hi - there is an issue with the theme not showing up in editor. This has worked ok previously but an error was showing up when I tried to access theme editor - saying theme not presant.
Tried an upgrade and it failed. Had to restore all files from server.

Went through the problem - diasbled all plugins and this was the one causing the problem. It was saying theme not present - on disabling all and renabling one by one this seemed to be causing the problem.

Up until this it had worked fine.

Hi,
have been using this plug in ok - versions 1.2.5. - did the last update to wp 2. 9.1 and the upgrade failed. Have had to restore from server.
A problem prior to this was the in theme editor the theme was showing as not availaable. I though there was a problem the upgrade might fix.

It did not upgrade

I have always had trouble upgrading my Wordpress version, so I have always avoided it for as long as possible. I&#039m going to give your plugin a shot, and hopefully it will make the process much easier.

The main reason I&#039ve always feared upgrading is that my other plugins may no longer function properly with the newer version of Wordpress. Does your plugin help with this?

UPDATE: Website is now working.

It was just a plugin issue.

Advice to anyone who does not see their blog after update - delete all the plugins you are not using, and especially the ones which have not been updated themselves in a while!

Its just worked for me :-D
