BTW, the readme.txt file in the plugin folder says "Stable tag: 0.3" and the "wordpress-automatic-upgrade.php" lists the version as 0.3.
Because oif the WP plugins page also displays version as 0.3 even though you are calling it version 0.4 in the changelog.
I havent tested it yet, 'coz i got fantastico to install WP for me. However, for the upgrade to WP 2.3, WPAU is my saviour :D
Correct me if I'm wrong...
Nice plugin all the same!
In place of the Catagory listings is this message:
WordPress database error:
[Unknown column ‘link_count’
in ‘where clause’]
SELECT cat_ID FROM
wp_categories WHERE
category_parent = 0 AND (
link_count = 0 OR
category_count != 0 OR (
link_count = 0 AND
category_count = 0 ) ) ORDER BY
category_count DESC
I rebuilt the database and upgreaded all links, but no luck, turning off all plugins made no difference,
I tried to search the release archive but I did not find any release version 2.02. From where Can I download the version?
Please let me know so that I can help you fix the problems.
Keith
Yes you are right there is nothing in the archive; the only place 2.02b resides is on Yahoo.com. But I could send you the copy of my test install of 2.02b which has only 2 posts - tests. All users of WP on yahoo are stuck with that version - yahoo refuses to upgrade, and manually upgrading is a disaster in the making. The testblog zip is 1.1 megs - I use a mac if that's a problem for you. I exported the db and it is 52kb - .sql.gz
Let me know, and contact me
Having said that, I beleive the wordpress automatic update plug in is not the plug in I would want to have installed on my blog. The reason is simple. I dont want to have something that is not tested entirely by the community. Although the WordPress itself is such a great application, However with absolutely no third party audits, no body knows what may come out of wordpress in any NEW release. I would not want to, nor recommend anyone just to go ahead and update to newer versions of wordpress as soon as they are released.
This However would not apply to my test sites. I may want to test any new product on the test version of my blog. BTW everyone of you should have a test version of your blog. Most of us dont.
You wrote: "I dont want to have something that is not tested entirely by the community."
Isn't that rather selfish? I mean, just letting others do the hard work, experience problems, resolve problems, and when everything is fine, you join the game and get it all for nothing?
After all, you are talking about a "community".
Please read the last paragraph of my comment.
If you have a backup - which every serious blog should have - you should have no problem testing new plug-ins with your blog.
But still think about it. Updating the whole of WordPress core with a snap is far more different then trying a new plug-in.
I tried your latest version of the plugin (0.4), but I get an error message. A new one this time.
It sais:
Warning: ftp_mkdir() [function.ftp-mkdir]: Aucun nom de repertoire specifie in /usr/home/xxx/money-online101.com/htdocs/tips/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/wpau_prelimcheck.class.php on line 393

"Aucun nom de fichier specifié" means "no file name has been specified".
My webserver is FreeBSB, PHP 4.4.
Does that tell you anything? Feel free to contact me by email, if you like.
Kind regards,
Britt Malka
Apart from those error warnings all seemed fine, it does say “done WPAU is ready to rollâ€, but in view of the above errors I didn't know if it would be safe, so I didn't proceed.
I have no idea what to do, what can be done?
Thanks.

I, too am afraid to continue with the upgrade process...
I know that my host allows tmp directories only in a specific place - could this cause the troubles?
Thanks a lot for a fast reply and thanks a lot for providing such a great plugin!
Thanks for the appreciation. I also recieved your email and am trying to figure out the problem for the other blog.
Keith
just one feature request. the ability to style the maintenence page.
Anyways, thanks a lot. It worked like a dream !
I'm a very active member of the Israeli WordPress community.
In order to work with WordPress in Hebrew (i.e. RTL) we do some translations and lots of changes in the code for every WordPress version.
Will it possible to change the plugin to work with our repository ?
(code wise and permission wise)
I have plans to make this plugin compatible for other languages once I fix the major bugs with it.
Thanks
Keith
We have used it for 2 of our blogs and that went very well. It is really well done.
We will soon talk about it on our blog (in French) : http://blog.infomedsolutions.com
Keep up the good work !
Glad it worked out well for you and thanks for the appreciation.
The second error I came across was plugin re-activation. I use SBM, so the plugin that deactivates widget support needs activated first. I wonder if this causes K2 users woes as well? At any rate I received an error saying SBM couldn't be activated and to do it manually, which I did and evrything was happy agian. However, because a plugin activation failed the upgrade failed to cleanup the backups and install files, which it kindly did after a prompting when I went back to the Manage page.
Thanks for the awesome plugin. even knowing these couple issues, I'm definately going to continue to use it.
Steve
Thanks for a great addition to Wordpress!
Glad it worked well for you. There are still some new bugs which have been reported today and I should fix those and release a new version shortly.
Keith
Thanks for your feedback, it's feedback like these that help me make this plugin more stable. I will definitely fix this issue and release a more stable version shortly.
Keith
In regard to the 2.02b WP version - is it safe to use the latest WPAU upgrade? I've managed to restore most of my files to a new install of 2.02.
This is a great plugin. Is it possible to have this plugin work with Wordpress MU also?
Best Regards
JAX
I'm using php 4.3.9 with apache 2.0.52 on a linux server. It's shared hosting. I'm running WP 2.1.3. I had tried upgrading to 2.2 when it first came out, but it made a mess of my site. I was hoping WPAU would be able to do it better. Any help appreciated.
Do you see any errors while activating the plugin
Sorry I missed this from your earlier commetn the latest version now is 0.5 this has the latest patches you should try this one out.
Keith
1. WordPress Automatic Upgrade: Permite a cualquier usuario no autenticado:
* Generar y descargar los archivos de WordPress (incluye wp-config.php).
* Generar y descargar una copia de seguridad de la base de datos donde está instalado el plugin.
* Activar/Desactivar todos los plugins.
* Actualizar la versión de WordPress.
2. OneClick: Al ser vulnerable a CSRF, permite descargar plugins — o código malicioso — desde cualquier URL.
3. Who Sees Ads: Es vulnerable a CSRF y XSS.
4. MyDashboard: Es vulnerable a CSRF y XSS.
Is it because of my host, maybe? I'm using Jumpline.
I had the same error with other plug-ins, until I changed the .htaccess file and gave WordPress more memory to work with. I put this code in the start of the file:
<FilesMatch "\.(php|html?)$">
php_value memory_limit 32M
</FilesMatch>
This plugin works like a breeze. Everything seems ok on first glance.
All this while, I didn't upgrade coz I found the process too cumbersome. You have done a great job Keith.
Hats off to you :)
I seem to be missing this from the url which causes it to fail "edit.php?". On build .4. This seems to happen on each step. I have to add it manually to advance.
http://www.*****.com/wp-admin/page=wordpress-au...
Once i get to DB backup i get this issue.
CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.
Not sure what that is all about. Wanted to let you know about these, thanks!
The plugin does not delete old files, it overwrites all the existing files with new ones. The first step always backs up the new files so you have access to the older files too.
Login to your site using FTP.
Delete the index.php file.
Rename the index.php.wpau.bak file to index.php
Performing these steps should remove the maintenance mode message.
It got rid of the message indicating that the site is in mailtenance mode, however I am simply left with a blank white page with no data.
Has anyone else run into this issue? and is there a solution?
I replaced the index.php with the backup one and all comes back, but I want to file this bug to you.
Regards.
I have no idea where to look to start troubleshooting this. I was choosing the "manual" step-through-it-one-step-at-a-time link to proceed.
Ideas? Thoughts? It really was pretty slick the first time I ran it, and I'm kinda bummed it's effing up on this one. :(
Thanks for any help!

One tip for the people that still get the FATAL error when trying to activate the plugin even adding Britt's tip to increase "memory_limit".
You also need to have Short Open Tags enabled on your php (Keith, if you remove the use of short open tags, it will improve the compatibility for different php installations).
You can add Short Open Tags support creating an .htaccess file on your wordpress admin directory (wp-admin) with the line:
php_flag short_open_tag onI hope it helps!
Bye,
P|xeL
But the installation failed saying error:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Ain't this plugin compatible with WP 2.2.2 or is there any other hidden steps?
Sachin
This was the easiest time I have ever had upgrading my wordpress install.
I look forward to all of the new releases now!
THANKS!
Plugin seems to enable ok. When I click "Click here so that we can start the upgrade." I get a file not found error with this:

When I ran the utility it did its preliminary check and found no issues. It wasn't clear to me which button to use to start so I clicked on the first start option which took me to the front page of my blog. That screen sat there for about 30 minutes so I clicked back and selected automated. The knobs, dials, bells and whistles finally began. One screen had to do with updating the database. It completed without error.
I created a few posts after the upgrade and didn't see this occur yesterday. I'm going to disable Admin Tiger (I think its called) to see if that is related to this issue. That widget was installed after the upgrade.
Network SOlutions does not allow us to access the WP database except through WOrdPress widgets. I have access all day to databases I create using the database PHP interface but not WP.
I'm new to WP and know just enough to be very dangerous. Any help would be appreciated.

If the error persists you can re-enable that plugin, but I would be quite sure that you will be able to resolve the issue by using this method, since I myself had a issue and disabling few plugins those errors went away.
The plugin is a much needed one, especially with the frequent updates that WP releases - full credit to you!
The first time I tried running the plugin there was a little hiccup because I was running php in safe mode and hadn't realized it until that moment. This stopped the upgrade process. I fixed the issue and continued, but once the upgrade was finished I was stuck in "maintenance mode".
I ran the plugin a second time, and that time things went great resulting in a site upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3.
I'm still not sure if this is a plugin I would recommend to someone who isn't confident or hasn't ever tried upgrading WP manually. In my case, it did speed up the process by a few minutes, which is cool.

I did run it on another WordPress installation on the same domain, and it worked just fine, though I was just testing the plugin on a brand new installation of the latest WP version.
Thank you.

I have tried to upgrade my Wordpress v1.5.2 using your plugin v0.7 but it fails with the error "Could not backup your WordPress files. Failed at Step 1."
Any ideas where I'm going wrong?
According to the FTP client the directory permissions are 765. The same as the permissions for the first blog. First blog lives at
/htdocs/blog1 and the new one at htdocs/pra/prablog the second domain praweb.org points to htdocs/pra so I guess /pra is the default directory for that domain. (Doing this with a second domain is new to me so that may be the issue.
Why is FTP asked for in this case and why would it fail? This is a virgin blog, just created it with the blog creator at Network Solutions. Nothing different from the first blog except that this one is one level farther down.
Not related to plugin: te100.kontera.com is REALLY slowing down my browser tonight
This site though is SUPER S L O W. Contributed for your work. But please get rid of kontera
thanks for a great plugin Keith!
Thank you for all the hard work - the ftp login was like icing on the cake..

Anyway, I got a problem with the backup files that your plugin made. both the wordpress php files and database backup. After downloading the zip files, I can't extract it. Downloaded it twice but still the same. I use both enzip and winrar to unzip. Any idea?
I can't get past putting it into maintenance. I saw above that someone had the same issue but my index.php is in my root directory. I did notice where the new wp files got put did have a blank index.php and index.htm. They showed up in the a separate folder called wp in the backup files. Could this be the problem? How do I get my site back to the way it was. My newest post is all there is right now. anna
I came across your question and I don't know if it's been answered yet but I can almost guarantee that Bad Behavior is causing the problem by blocking WAUP from properly querying your blog and it's database. Bad Behavior has a very bad habit of blocking legitimate queries as well as those automated SpamBots and also causing corruption in the database just enough to throw all sorts of different errors and there's no way you can know what's causing these problems. I ditched Bad behavior because of this.
Anyway, I see your website has all the posts back but if you wish to use WAUP I suggest you deactivate Bad Behavior first before attempting the upgrade. Personally I suggest also that you lose Bad Behavior altogether and go with Aksimet and bcSpamBlocker (you can find the latter at the WP extensions Plugins Directory) instead. I've had excellent results with this combination.
Just thought you'd like to know.
I will look at the other spam plug-in you suggested. Thanks again for taking the time to help me. Anna
i have used this plug in with great success on one of my newer blogs (on a new hosting service) (from 2.2.2 to 2.3.1) ,
Worked really easy, no problems at all, thank you ;)
But on some of my other blogs (older hosting service, also older wp 2.2.1) f.ex. this one:
http://blog.miguelovitch.dk/2007/12/27/act-now-...
i get this message:
Your server is running in safe mode. WPAU cannot continue in safe mode. Please ask your system administrator to change the setting to disable running in safe mode
i am not sure, is this something i can do my self or is it my host?
Also i have another quistion, i have made some changes in the sidebar,
These files are located in the theme folder,, just to bee 100% sure: the theme will remain the same after update?
thanks again,
wish you the best

I'm not able to find my "ftp credentials"
the first is already written, and is admin (I think it's right)
the second is the password I use when I go to wordpress to admin my site
the third is ftp base directory: in transmit I use the first folder, so I think I need to write /,
the fourth (ftp host) ??
is it username, password, name of the site? or what?
excuse me, but I'm only a poor italian radiologist and what is obvious for you is not so obvious for me...
I've searched it on the web but I can't find an answer.
Thanks, floriana
I've a problem in finding ftp credentials,
the first two, I think, are right like they appear: admin and admin's password
third and fourth for me are more difficult
third; only / if I use root directory ???
fourth is the worst : - ((((
ftp.sitename? or "username","password"?
I'm a radiologist, so it's not my work...but I'd like to upgrade anyway!
it's difficult to find on the web these informations, so simple for you but terrible for me, thanks, floriana
Can I use this to upgrade from 231 to 232?
Apparently once I used it for the 23 to 231 upgrade it disappeared from plugins folder and it's weird that I would have to reinstall and activate for another roun d from 231 to 232
As long as you backup your files/database using the backup plugin before you upgrade, you'll be fine. Now if I could only find something that tells me how to use the backup files in case I need to restore my blog. I have NO idea how to do that.
But in the process, I got stuck on the task putting the site on maintenance mode. So I tried to follow the instructions on the FAQ but when I connected to the FTP, there was no "index.php.wpau.bak". How can I fix this?
Thanks a lot. I hope you can help me.
Can anyone tell me why I see this when I click on the plugin tab?
Warning: exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/mydir/public_html/myblog/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/wpau_prelimcheck.class.php on line 82
It worked like wonders.. next, next, and all done! Don't even need to upload the files, read the upgrade faq, etc :)
The only thing is that it does not upgrade when the hosting server has the safe mode on. In my case my hosting server will not change this mode, so is there another way to upgrade with your plugin?
...and I cannot get out of that error!
:(
I'm sure there's probably a simple fix for this, but I'm struggling to find any information on it. Will you please point me in the right direction or provide instruction for this in your docs?
Thanks! :)
Some ISP doesn't like 777
I run a group blog, and I saw that the "Automatic Upgrade" page does appear on anyone account. It should appear only on the administrator's account. Thanks.
If the site had been working just fine with more stringent permissions, I don't see why I should want to make them less stringent beyond the running of the upgrade.
If this is not a feature would you consider it for a future version? Perhaps it could just write a temp file with "filename|origional-permission" for each file it changes and then change it back when its all done.
I use WP 2.3.2
After clicking on it, I got a blank page ... checked out the blog's main page, inner page, category page, admin/login -- every single page was blank. I thought the pages might have been stuck in maintenance mode so as indicated about I tried moving out the existing index.php file and renaming the index.php.wpau.bak file to index.php. Still blank pages.
Long story short, I ended up having to do a hard restore of all the blog files. Of all the plugins I've ever installed, some haven't worked out, I've never had one crash the site entirely. The blog has been done for almost a full day now and we're still in process of the hard restore. There's no guarantee that will work either.
Proceed with extreme caution if you're considering this plugin. Great idea in theory but it's been an abject nightmare for us.
run smoothly upgrading from wp 2... something.. to the latest wp 2.3.3

Trying it now results in this:
Seems you have not completed the clean up process from last upgrade. Please click here to run the clean up process before continuing. It doesn't matter how many times I click where it says "click here" I get the same thing every time.
FWIW, I'm running WP 2.3.3 on a hosted server.
Any suggestions?
TIA!

"Seems you have not completed the clean up process from last upgrade. Please click here to run the clean up process before continuing."
It doesn’t matter how many times I click where it says “click here” I get the same thing every time.
Currently using WP 2.0 - which is why I'm desperate to upgrade! I guess I'll just do it manually this time.
""It would appear that there is a problem with this plugin and the final WP2.5 - I almost completed the process (manual version), however I was signed out of the admin dashboard before your plugin could complete the clean up procedure. The WP upgrade itself appears to have been fully successful, and upon resigning into Wordpress, I was able to go to Manage>Automatic Upgrade and complete the clean up process from there. There is the possibility that something else caused this issue - happy to help out if I can.""
it seems it wouldn't work and says: Your server is running in safe mode. WPAU cannot continue in safe mode. Please ask your system administrator to change the setting to disble running in safe mode
what should I do?
Highly recommended.

I am having extreme problems getting any of this to work.I just want the latest version of WordPress...is there any service which will update me to the latest version for free????
Now none of my internal navigation links work on any of my sites. All links to my pages and links to 'continue reading' blog posts, and links to read or make 'comments' no longer work. Any idea how to correct this?
I'm hosted on Dreamhost. Don't know if that makes a difference. I don't know what you use to zip those files, but it doesn't seem to be working quite right for me.
One small annoyance. I have my actual blog installation on sub-folder from my domain and have it point to the top of the domain. Whenever the step-by-step upgrade gave me a link (such as a link to download the database back-up) it didn't use the proper url structure. I had to add in the correct url. Nothing critical, but it was a little annoying.
Keep up the good work with this plugin!
I followed all the instructions and don't know what to do next.
thanks
It went off without a hitch, thanks to this plug-in.
;)
Just wanna say a BIG THANK YOU for this plug in. initially i was apprehensive in upgrading to the latest Wordpress version, thinking of the daunting task ahead. But after finding and using your plugin, it was like WOW! Really simple to use!! And i managed to upgrade my blogs.
BIG THANKS!!

Thanks!
It's a question of compatibility. Before installing the plugin, just make sure you upgrade bbpress to the latest version if you have it on your site.
It would have helped me a lot if this was highlighted to me in the early stages.
I tried disabling a few plugins such as Bad Behaviour" but the problem persists. Thought I'd run it by you people in case there's an easy solution that I missed.
This is just unbelievably!!! This would pass as the #1 plugin ever made for Wordpress! Thanks so much for the amazing job.
Viet.
Works like a charm !
Thanks for this great piece of software
However there is one little problem. It never appears to completely finish the upgrade and go away, returning to the site. Instead, I have to go back to the dashboard or site manually. All the upgraded files are installed correctly. It just hangs on the final page. odd problem.
Still it seems do the actual update itself okay. Thanks.
first ran it, didn't complete the plugin manuever, had to reactivate plugins one at a time. tried it again, and it worked, but now the media stuff doesn't work at all. media screen comes up with my template and no file found, and lightboxes are so messed up it's pathetic.
Tried a restore, and still messed up and not restored to older version.
Fantastico is looking better and better. Lucky it was not my major blog.
Tried your forums, but there's nothing there.
Seems like there is lots of varied reactions and results. Why is that?

Jonny,
Until Keith can reply...
If you just installed the plugin and attempted to activate, it means that for some reason it could not create the /waup-backup/ sub-directory and the "index.php" file within that it needs to work properly. If the plugin has been working fine and now there's an error, for some reason the sub-directory is no longer there which I would find passing strange to say the least. So try this:
1. Deactivate the plugin.
Note: If you have "Bad Behavior" anti spam plugin installed, deactivate it and reactivate WAUP and see if it activates properly. If so, BB is keeping it from writing to your install. My advise to to ditch BB and with Akismet and "WP SpamFree" instead. Works like a charm.
Anyway...
2. Create the /waup-backup/ sub-directory manually as it states to in the error. Once that's done, create a new blank text file and name it "index.php" without the quotes of course and upload it to the new /waup-backup/ sub-directory you created.
3. Reactivate the plugin.
Let me know if this works for you. If it doesn't your root directory may not have the needed write permissions.
HTH
By the way, I did get another error before this step that said that /httpdocs was not recognized but below it was a link saying ready to roll so I continued. That is what I put as the base directory where Wordpress is installed in the root. I tried leaving it blank but then it gave me this:
Warning: ftp_site(): 'SITE CHMOD 0777 ': command not understood in E:\inetpub\vhosts\lonestarsage.com\httpdocs\wp-content\plugins\wordpress-automatic-upgrade\wpau_prelimcheck.class.php on line 168

Warning: ftp_chdir(): /wp-includes: The system cannot find the file specified. in E:\inetpub\vhosts\lonestarsage.com\httpdocs\wp-content\plugins\wordpress-automatic-upgrade\wpau_prelimcheck.class.php on line 205
and said that wordpress update could not update my site and that a fix was being worked on. So I put /httpdocs because that is where the root directory shows up in my ftp client.
Ok, I deactivated it and reactivated it to see if that would work as to your first suggestion. It is the only plugin I had activated. The only other plugins there are Akismet and something called Hello Dolly, both are deactivated.
Now as to 2. Sorry, I am horrible with computers. How do I create the /waup/-backup/ sub-directory?
I just went to your site. Brand new isn't it? Are you perhaps new at this do-it-yourself-custom-WordPress-install thing yourself or just horrible at computers as you say? :D
Tell you what...I had a lot of help when I first started doing this myself a few years ago and I've passed these favors I received onto other folks just starting out or who just didn't have a head for the tech stuff so why don't you wander over to my site and shoot me an email via my contact page. The comment section here is okay for questions just about WAUP but I believe you might need a bit more info than just about the plugin itself and I'll be glad to help.
I won't actually be able to get into this until tomorrow (I'm busy working up another WordPress powered site where all my tech/geek posts can live) but let me know where you're currently at as far as knowledge goes and we'll go from there.
The install was very easy and went well. I tested the site when I first set it up and all seems to work fine.
Anyway, I will be happy to take you up on your offer for help about blog sites but first I really want to get this automatic update working.
Thanks...
Thanks

Have fun with your upgrade!
The maintenance page that the plug-in creates during installation has a spelling error.
It says something about an "inconvinience," but it's supposed to be spelled "inconvenience."
Simple issue, I know, but I figured you'd like to know.

i get the pint of creating the file manually, but does it need to be empty or does it have to have some type of information?
What will happen if a WordPress release is automatically updated and some of the other plugins I'm using are not compatible with the new release of WordPress? How does or what provision does WAUP have for that?
DO NOT TRY THIS SOFTWARE!
I just tried it and it completely screwed my database. I lost all my comments (thousands), categories, and it seems to have screwed up other aspects of my database. Trying to click on any link brings you to an endless loop.
Try it at http://wmbriggs.com
The backup files are also corrupt! I cannot unzip them because of this.
I tried emailing the person wpplugins@techie-buzz.com noted as the designer, but this email fails!
So I am dying here and nothing I can do about it.
Beware of this software.
I love this plugin. A time and headache saver.
Thank you soo much.
Wondering why the link to the Plugin Support Forum was removed, it might explain why the forum is quieter lately. :)

Worked like a breeze!

I have one issue on one site that has a Please log in again. message after I try to log in using firefox, I login on the wp-admin page and this message is on the wp-login.php page. Oddly enough I have no problem getting in using Opera. For other site I had this same issue, say one time out of 6 or seven, and I just erased the cache and I was in. For this one site I am locked out.
The best thing is this is my called Crash Test Dummy, because I use it to test all things new and I sort of expect it to crash.
Other errors I got often enough to be in the FAQ would include After install I have a message "Nothing Here" on my home page but my theme and sidebars are still there and answer is the reload the page with F5 or click on a sidebar link. I saw this one VERY often, say one in 4 or one in 5.
One recommendation: you should provide a much clearer download link. I scrolled up and down a number of times before finding it.
Thanks again.
It's my favorite plugin.
i have successfully used this great plugin many times, but the last site that i tried it on has a big problem..
Ok at the end of the upgrade it logged me out of the site and then asked me to login again, when i tried to log back into the admin panel it would not accept my password. i tried resseting the password through the wordpress "forgot your password page" but when i follow the new password instructions it still tells me that the password is incorrect??
Could you please help me solve this problem and if i need to restore the backup files that were created during the upgrade process could you let me know how i go about doing this..
Hope you can help.. thanks..
This seems to be a known issue with a upgrade to WordPress for some sites, are you using Firefox? If so please try another browser. You can check the following links to learn more and trouble shoot the issue.
It is basically related to cookies, try these out

I have now got the site working again by just re-uploading the backup files that i downloaded during the upgrade.
The site is now back to normal with every thing working apart from i still need to upgrade my version of wp.
Hope this may be of some help to a few of you that are having problems..
I also received the message 'Seems you have not completed the clean up process from last upgrade' but i don't have an .htaccess file....
Where should i create one?
Thanks
I have a serious problem though. While stepping through the wizard it logged me out of the site. Unfortunatly when I tried to log back in my password did not work. I'm positve that I have used the correct password and not done anything silly like have CapsLock on. Eventually I requested a new password sent to my email address, but this does not work either. What could have gone wrong. How do I get access to my site?
Kind regards
Ben
Any suggestions?
I just uploaded the folder to the plugins directory. Activated it. And now what? I don't see anything happening, should something else be done? Please let me know how this works and how I'll know when it is done?
Thanks!
This seems like an obvious question, but I do not see it here. What happens if your plugin asks for FTP creds, but your system doesn't allow FTP connections? I connect using SFTP.
I would expect that, in this case, you would give instructions about what permissions needed to be changed. Is there a work around here?
I'm sorry if this question has been answered elsewhere, but I could not find it. Cheers!
I feel a bit cheeky asking for this (since this plugin already saves loads of time and this is only a very minor point), but could you put a select all option on the page with the checkboxes to select additional database tables to backup?
I have several plugins which use additional tables and this would streamline the process even further.
Thank you MONSIEUR
combined with oneclick this is the tool for dummies like me
Wish you a nice day
"This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.
For offline users
You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
To view subscribed feeds
Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.
To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)
Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view. " I hope this makes sense - also for your information I even tried to de-activate all the other plugins
I prefer wordpress.
I have a serious problem though.
where the hell is this?
I mean seriously, I'm usually good at spotting the download but this page is so littered with noise I can't find the needed needle in an otherwise useless haystack of ads and gimmicks.
so seriously, where's the download link?
