Backup wizard on my cpanel helps me to do this, though there is no option to choose only the plugins and themes...or either of them...but i am going to backup them only once and whenever i use a new plugin or theme......but i will be backing up my mysql database quite often..but definitely this is a nice option...

Wow, Keith! This is excellent and now wonder you have been in hiding. :-) This is going to really create a buzz in the WordPress community.
